This is actually a painting that I had stared a few months back and never could figure out what to do with it. I trimmed it down to 16″ x 16″ and worked on it some more in the studio this morning, and liked the results. I hope you do too! My youngest daughter Erin thought it should be in a children’s book. Interesing idea! I like the idea of being lost in the woods, the woods to me has always been a place where you HOPE you get lost, for only when we are completely lost are we most at peace. I know that sounds paradoxical, but I think you see what I mean. Sometimes in life the more we try to “understand” and sort and sift our existence, making everything line up, the more distant and sad we become! I think we should always remember to acknowledge the Lord as guiding us in ways we may not understand. That is a wonderful place to rest.
I had hoped to get started on a new landscape today at the Hangman memorial, but had to take my daughters into town for haircuts and shopping. I want to put my family first… maybe soon it will just be family and art, Lord willing.
I have really been thinking more about penny painting as a way to perhaps break the back of the stranglehold the “art world” has on the visual arts. It is not right that art has become expensive, or highbrow. Work you can’t understand but commands high prices. With this nightmare of meaning swirling around what is a very basic craft, it is sad that the common man - the working man and woman of the earth - has been discarded and ignored as the rightful home of great art.
This should not be, and it is my intention to center the snobbish art world square in my sites. Art is not for bigshot galleries and fancy-pants museums. Those places are graveyards for art! I want to see great affordable, heartfelt art hanging over sofas throughout America and the world, simple honest folk who simply want to own something nice, something precious they can hand down to their kids! That is my market, I long to reach the everyman and everywoman of this grand earth. For you and I beloved!
Would you like to join me? This ain’t no disco folks! We have it withing our power in the Lord God to see amazing changes being wrought in the earth! All it takes is some Dreamers, those who are just insane wnough to believe in the good in men again, who dare to see a world falling in love rather than hitting the big red “Launch all nukes” button. There will not be nukes every again beloved. The Lord Yeshua is bringing rapid change in the earth, I am aware of a strengthening intensity in his spirit, in love, in mercy, in compassion. This will be like an ocean soon, swallowing up whole nations and religions and peoples and toungues! This is it beloved! This is New Heavens and New Earth.
It was here all along. Like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz, she had the ruby slippers all along and didn’t even know she had the power to go home. We have that same gift my darling, we can go home now, for we have this most wonderful spirit of God, a spirit that dares to dream big, reach high, and see the best in everyone, everywhere.
I am overjoyed at my new found faith in the Lord to change us lovingly… I see no reason to expect catastrophe or wars or any such things. Those things have been put away! There nations that rattle their swords are just irate over something… roll out the red carpet to them, invire Iran and North Korea over for dinner! Play a few rounds of poke with them! HAVE FUN! Nations are no differnt than people, they just want a little respect. Let’s show the world that America can be a better nation, can lead the world in this new West to settle… the New Heavens and Earth! Let go of the greed and the control… and let’s fall in love, what do you say?
Amen and amen, may God’s peace cover you tonight and fill your heart with great optimism in this time.
This is not a depression or recession folks. This is the move of the Spirit of life in God that we knew would come one day, glory to His name!
