This is a nice sized painting I did today, a study from a photo I had taken earlier this week. I was with Emily driving down Sprague avenue in Spokane, there are all of these 50-60’s almost retro used car lots in a row. Amazing. While I was taking the snapshot some burly guy popped out of the cheap sliding glass (plastic?) doors and yelled at me, “What are you doing?” To wchich I replied, “Just taking some snapshots, I am an artist.” That seemed to pacify him and he begrudgingly slinked back to his hole in the building. I assume he must live in this thing, is this his nest? Where is the female, usually in human nests there is at least one female and often many of the young?
I keep coming back to this question, “Where are the dreamers in America?” We seem to be somewhat mind dumb now, I guess we are waiting for the next show to drop. But everyone in their heart knows we ain’t “out of the woods” by a long shot. In spite of what the government “says”… this economy is not getting better. It is sucking wind.
Sorry, I know that sounds depressing but it shouldn’t be. I mean, do you really want to see that corrupt system continue any longer? Continue to enslave our chidren to a billion generations, all obidiently consuming, seeing their doctor the prescribed number of times a week, taking the medicines the state provides (Go rent THX-1138 from netflix). I say this is about the only shot we have to reach for something higher, purer, more holy and divine in its brotherly affection. The system as it currently works TRIES to scare up fightings and wars, for the wars maintain the power struggle in the earth, and those in authority know that as long as there is wars, the people go along with most anything the govt wants to do. If the nations every stopped warring for ONE generation there would never be another conflict in the earth, ever. Because war IS NOT NATURAL to humankind! Fighting is not in our blood. Those behaviors are simply old race survival thinking that keeps getting passed down, generation to generation. Well I think it is time to STOP the procession once and for all.
This is the only chance we’ll have, if Amerca keeps her head in the sand, we will be not even a footnote in the history books. If we rise up and build a NEW WAY TO LIVE in the earth, and begin to show the world HOW exactly it can work, we have a chance to see New Earth in manifest fulfillment. But is has to start somewhere, with crazy artists maybe stuck out in the fields. Who else will hear God but those who had their senses exercised (artists and anyone creating heartfelt work) to discern good and evil? You should pay more attention to the words of artists, in whatever field of art, these ones carry a deep connection with the Father. We should learn to hear our artists, and STOP hearing the bleating tomfoolery coming from Washington. They have no answers now… they are buying time that is all.
Its called printing money. Printing money buys time but when the bottom falls out it will be MUCH WORSE than if they had let it fail to begin with, which is what they should have done instead of bailing out the big shots while the working poor got wage cuts and layoffs. Very nice. But we all need to work together now, govt (if possible) and the citizenry to arrive at peaceful means of reconciliation and experimentation (as regards leaving the tired money systems). Is there anything left in us that dares to settle this new land, or have we all sold out to the company store? I wonder.
