The last few days I have been experimenting more with oil pastels with acrylic. I have done this before but never knew what to make of the results, so I just kept them aside. But as I have been feeling in my heart for sometime now that I am searching for - something - I started playing around with them more and am beginning to warm up to them. So the three paintings posted today are all oil pastel with acrylic.

This is one of those “imaginary” landscapes I sometimes like to do, this is a study of the descent of the Father (God) upon Mt. Moriah, while Israel looks on in fear! I am not even sure about the biblical accuracy of this, but I like the idea of artists beginnning to paint interpretations of what the appearance of the Lord God Yahweh would look and feel like in our space-time. We are headed I believe for just such an occurence on some level, and the Lord is preparing his people to behold him, and not be afraid.

Therefore, you can see how important it is that you be grounded in your own life in faith, and embrace the inevitablity of such an event. How? By practicing His presence in your day to day life! This same God that you worship and mingle with in your heart is the same Creator who shook mountains in the Old Testament, raises the dead, and protects and shelters his people. This is how you dispel any fears. Simply look for him in your day, accept and cherish his love and care for you, and you will begin to “see him” in your heart, and then, when he DOES descend into our earth (for whatever purpose) you won’t be shaking and quaking in your boots, but rather you will simply acknowledge His appearance as a manfestation of His person.

You would think such practical matter would be handled by the churches and religious institutions of the world, but they seem more preoccupied with traditions and words and religious precepts. I say ENOUGH with the ways that serve only to dim his presence, its time to celebrate God as a real living, breathing person again! Just as in the days of Christ upon this earth, we are walking now in the Lord, with the Lord, as a woman with her friend. Or a child with their best buddy, making sand castles, painting, living in truth and sincerity. Those who are called and chosen understand these things, the children of the world will never understand, but they are to be loved and exalted above ourselves.
