I painted this yesterday on my lunch break, a little view in PV along the river. I am really enjoying these little odd corners of this river, and become aware that I could literally stop at any point and paint what I see. Life is all around, pregnant with truth, filled with endless possibilities, lying at our very feet! The penny paintings are helping me see that better, as I strive to follow my heart’s calling and not be mired in suppossed limitations as to what constitutes appropriate subject matter.
On that note, let me affirm to you that money is not our source of blessing in this life. What is the source of blessing?
- Love for one another and the earth
- A willingness to see the best in anyone and everyone
- And a desire to share the gift that is in your heart!
That is all! Or even shorter… “be kind”. (From “Lost Horizon” which is a wonderful movie full of symbolism for this time we are in!). Out of a desire for kindness you will pursue the true gifts in you, for these gifts are given from above that you might be healed, and that you might realize deep fulfillment as you grow into your role. As it is a growing process, it may be that initially the goal is dim and fuzzy, but KEEP AT IT. Do the LITTLE THINGS you know you can do and be faithful in that which is least… and the Lord of Creation will see that faithfulness and affirm his love for you, you will find the windows of heaven opening upon your life!
Now, I have seen and can testify that there will always be some bumps along the way. These are simply the tests that our good Creator sends our way, not that He might be impressed with our ability, but rather, that we ourselves might begin to understand ourselves better, and understand that no matter our failures or deficiencies, HE WILL UPHOLD YOU. You absolutely, utterly, cannot fail! Not with your face turned toward heaven! Not with your heart turned to the earth and one another, always looking for the higher road (which I am still learning, don’t think I have this nailed down folks, I DO NOT, I am simply sharing what I have dealt with in the hopes that someone else might gleen some little fragment of solace as He wills!)

I am improving my shipping process. By getting ahead of the curve and simply boxing up the paintings immediately, I hope to be able to ship on the same day/next day as I receive payment. This will help me a lot, I won’t be staring at 6 or 7 paintings to ship at once. By adopting a little efficiency here, I will have more time to paint! That is the equation! That is the secret formula I believe!
I have always assumed I had to leave job “X” before I could “be” a full time painter… but that is not where the blessing lives! The blessing is in the little daily improvements that we learn to make, that slowly add up, pulling you towards your dream! This frames life in a more POSITIVE way, so that instead of thinking something has to change before you can realize your goal, you start looking for the little bits of good that can be worked into your existing life. That relieves one from so much stress… now all is in the Lord’s hands and you can just go about your way whistling as you work (no matter the task), confident that HE IS BRINGING ALL OF HEAVEN, EVERY ANGEL, to bear upon your dream, working out every detail as you go, tinkering with the fabric of existence itself, that you might enter the fullest possible measure of his love and life!
Sometimes hard to see though… a lot of times I think we get certain notions lodged in our brains that set up like concrete… some belief that isn’t based in blessing and life, but in some wacky idea of how to achieve something in the natural. So we keep replaying these tapes in our mind… they get dredged up when we are down, and need someone to blame for our woes! The problem with that though, is that as long as you are BLAMING someone or some situation or system for your incarceration, the small opportunities go unnoticed, overlooked, and ignored. But they hold the secret to your success!
Many folks are carrying some wonderful gifts to release into the earth! If you are reading this right now, and your heart is rustling because there is some dream you have always had, but which for whatever reason always seemed beyond your grasp… I say unto you(!) that is the gift of God in you! THERE IS LIFE if you will only take the smallest of steps today! Seek the door and it will open freely unto you! Seek your dream, and the dream will open before you like a rose! Don’t wait for ANYTHING to happen before you step out! There is ALWAYS something we can do that we are not currently doing, and therein lies the blessing of God!
We were waiting for a big fireworks show in the sky, some miracle perhaps to set us on the way… LOL… when all the while the true power, the true blessing, lay hidden amongst the least and the ignoble aspects of our lives.
Whew, I start writing and can’t stop. 
This is good stuff folks… this is the “old path, the good way” wherein there is reat, keep your heart in tune with life, with art and poetry and music and tears and laughter… turn down the volume a little on the news and the chatter… (God is taking care of all of “that” without our so much as noticing.) Above all, reach out to him He loves you dearly and desires ONLY the very best for you!
Of course, now that I write all these wonderful things… ooops… now I get to find out if I really believe it! But I hope its getting easier for all of us as we continue to learn what this “new life” in New Earth is all about.
Truly, this is the City of God, this is New Jerusalem.
