I did this little drawing of my friend Dani who I work with, she has always been kind enough to model for me on occasion. This is a from a snapshot I had taken. I still prefer to work from life if at all possible, but photos I guess are better than nothing. I am certain that one day soon I will be able to hire models that can come out to my studio. I can’t seem to convince my family to pose for me, oh well.
I did this early this morning, I think the early hours of the day are perfect for drawing, and then as the day progresses, location painting! And then perhaps towards the later part of the day etchings? I am trying to refine how my art “work day” looks so as I transition into this as full time work, I will already have in place a methodology for my day.
Drawing is very important, I have neglected it! I will right that wrong!
I hope everyone’s Sunday is getting off to a great start today, this is the day that the Lord has made let us rejoice - in the mists and the glory and the peace and the love - and be glad in it! Weather here has cleared and I am hoping to get out shortly for more location work. Perhaps something a little larger, but I am trying to gauge my steps with painting sizes… you paint too small all of the time and that is all you know - small. You have to mix in larger work occasionally to exercise your powers. Not often though! Large paintings mean large areas you have to cover, more painting just to “cover” and not always “express”. But it’s all good, the simple act of painting flat areas of color even is so wonderful, so perfectly pleasant and therapeutic.
Yes beloved. We are there. This is new Earth, this is the glory promised from befoer the foundations of the earth, the cascading pleasures of the Father, mixed with our tears and our love-making, the children of adam, of Christ the Lord, of every holy breathe and word that has ever been uttered. This is the transcendant light, now she descends, now she wraps us all in unspoken caress.
Believe, believe, bellieve, only believe and all of heaven comes to your rescue! Beloved, you are light and you will be exalted in due time, keep your hand to the plow, work always as unto the Lord, keep your face full in the sun, uplifted and optimistic. I know (how well I now) that it is often a struggle, a fight to hold on to this sentiment, but that is the good fight of faith and will always be rewarded. ALWAYS! You are guaranted to prosper as the Lord continues to bless your efforts.
As you seek what is helpful and beautiful for your fellow man, the roaming eyes of the Lord spots you and says, “yes… that one will do. That one sees where I am going… that one is not afraid to cry.”
